Volunteer & Social Action
Let's make a difference together and leave the world a little better.

Take action and build a better world.
At Congregation Beth Emeth, we believe in the power of social action - giving back and making a positive impact in our community. Our Social Action Committee offers a variety of opportunities to get involved, no matter your interests or time commitment.
Here's how you can make a difference:
Fight Hunger at the Soup Kitchen
Every Sunday, we serve hot meals to those in need at the Sister Maureen Joyce Center. Join our friendly team to help with food prep, serving, and cleanup. It's a great way to give back and meet new people!
We need at least 8 volunteers each week. Sign up for one (or more!) dates here:

Grow Food for Our Community at Diane's Farm
Why volunteer at Diane's Farm? It's a hands-on way to give back. You'll help with everything from planting seeds to harvesting crops, with all the fresh, organically grown produce going to the temple's soup kitchen and the City Mission.
This effort is a tangible expression of Tikkun Olam, the Jewish principle of repairing the world. By growing food for those in need, you're helping our community and the environment. All ages and ability levels are welcome, with tasks available for everyone.
Each week, our leaders, Mark Warford or Joe Bierman, will be ready to give you all volunteer assignments and help you along the way. If you have questions, reach out to the office, and we will direct these to the appropriate person(s).
The time commitment is from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm each Sunday. Please plan to wear appropriate clothes and footwear for gardening outdoors.
