Welcome to Congregation Beth Emeth, a Reform Jewish community in Albany serving New York’s Capital Region. We're a sacred home where you can find fulfillment in Jewish life and a true sense of belonging.
Established in 1838, we're the 4th oldest Reform congregation in the nation and the first Jewish community in upstate New York.
Pioneer in Reform Jewish Practice
We're the first congregation to welcome women in our choir, allow mixed-gender seating, and live broadcast a Jewish service.
Rich Rabbinic Lineage
Isaac Mayer Wise - considered the founder of Reform Judaism - began his groundbreaking career as our first Rabbi.
Raising our future.
Starting with our tuition free Religious School, we honor our pioneering legacy by investing in our Jewish future.
The Einhorn Center for Jewish Education
Yes, you read that right - our Religious School is tuition free for members. We make learning fun and accessible - through art, music, dance, technology, cooking, Hebrew, gaga, and so much more - helping our students develop a lifelong love of Judaism!
CBE & Me is our home for young children and the grown-ups who love them. With opportunities to celebrate holidays, experience Shabbat, and connect with other parents, we pride ourselves on being a warm, safe, and inviting place to bring your children to play, learn, and find community.
CBEYG is our peer led youth group for high school students built on positive interpersonal connections, Jewish living, and peer leadership. Activities are planned by and for teens encouraging participation and providing memorable Jewish communal experiences as the foundation for lifelong friendships.
I’ve always said that Beth Emeth is our Jewish home away from home. When we walk into temple, we are in community; it’s always been that way.
