Yom Kippur Text Study with Rabbinic Intern Spencer Mandell
Details
Join Rabbinic Intern Spencer Mandell as we learn about our covenant with one another and God. On Yom Kippur, our Torah readings turn us toward “תשובה” (teshuva), meaning return, repair, and repentance. Atonement on Yom Kippur includes everyone: leaders, children, strangers, even future generations. Choosing to atone means choosing to take responsibility for our actions and returning to God. Together, we will learn about how atonement is practiced through deeds of justice: loving our neighbor, caring for the poor, and honoring the vulnerable. By studying our sacred texts together we will each cultivate hope, renewal, strength and joy through our studies.
