“The Book of Jonah” The book of Jonah is a story full of subtle biblical humor and real pointed questions about God's mercy. This book asks whether we can really begrudge God's compassion, even when we feel an obligation to save people we'd rather not forgive. Jonah is the book we read together on Yom Kippur afternoon, and this will be a lovely evening to get to know Jonah’s story more closely. Sailing through summer, Jonah’s story will give us an opportunity to reflect on our own personal journeys toward destiny.
