Join the Brotherhood for our new monthly Torah Schmooze!

The first Brotherhood Torah Shmooze will revolve around the following - I can't read or write Hebrew; I never study Torah and I rarely go to temple. I wear a Jewish star and eat a bagel and lox or a brisket sandwich religiously. I'm Jewish. Or Am I? What does it mean to be Jewish? Is Jewish identity an accident of birth? Is it culinary? Is it cultural? Or, is there an action required in order to be Jewish?  

We will discuss how the Torah, Rabbinic sages like Maimonides and Rashi, and 21st century traditional and Reform Rabbis have defined Jewish identity. No prior Torah Study experience or advanced Jewish knowledge is necessary.
