As we look toward November, our congregation is delighted to once again sponsor the Wisley Dupiche Turkey Giveaway at the Soup Kitchen on Sunday, November 15. This cherished tradition helps ensure that families in our community can enjoy a full, festive, and delicious Thanksgiving meal in their own homes.

Wisley was an inspiration for our community efforts. A huge supporter of the Soup Kitchen, he was instrumental in pioneering this very turkey giveaway. His kind demeanor and infectious enthusiasm brought light and warmth to every patron he interacted with. This annual event will ensure his deep commitment to serving our community lives on.

This year, our Sunday Soup Kitchen partner All Saints will be bringing traditional Thanksgiving sides - adding even more warmth and abundance to the holiday table.

To make this annual mitzvah shine, we need your help:

Volunteer: We’re seeking volunteers to package and distribute frozen turkeys and sides, greet guests with holiday cheer, and help keep the flow of distribution running smoothly. It’s a wonderful opportunity for adults, teens, and families to serve together and share the spirit of gratitude and giving. If you’re able to volunteer, please reach out to our Social Action Committee at SocialAction@CBEAlbany.org.

Donate: We also welcome donations to help us purchase turkeys and all the essentials needed for the event. Every contribution - large or small - directly supports families who count on this holiday program for nourishment and joy. To donate, make your gift via our online donation form to the Social Action Fund, and write “Turkey” in the payment notes.
