CBE Executive Director: Listening, Learning, and Growing Together

This article first appeared in our May/June '26 edition of The Bulletin
I’ve always been a lover of stories. It’s what led me to study theatre and to spend my career working with groups of people, helping them tell theirs.
Five months into my term as executive director, I am reminded of how much the stories we share with one another matter - and what a powerful gift listening can be.
I am deeply grateful to the congregants who have taken the time to share their CBE experiences with me - whether joyful, challenging, or thought-provoking. These moments of openness are true gifts. They help me understand not only what we are doing well, but also where we can grow. These contributions also signal a belief in our potential to be even stronger, more inclusive, and more meaningful. The staff and I welcome this input with gratitude as we strive to foster a culture where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.
In a vibrant community, growth is never a solitary endeavor. It is shaped, refined, and strengthened through the voices of those who care deeply about our synagogue’s past, present, and future. Every story shared, every opinion expressed, and every suggestion offered reflects commitment - and is genuinely appreciated. The staff and I are committed to translating your feedback into meaningful improvements that strengthen our programs, deepen engagement, and enhance our shared experience.
As we plan for next year - and that work is already well underway - the insights you’ve shared through the Mission, Vision, and Values process, as well as through emails, phone calls, and even casual conversations in the lobby, are helping to shape the year ahead. In the spirit of Reform Judaism, which embraces ongoing learning and evolution, your willingness to dream big dreams for Beth Emeth remains one of our greatest strengths.
