Camaraderie, Service, Connection, Community: The Pillars of Brotherhood

This article first appeared in our May/Jun '25 edition of The Bulletin
Recently, Brotherhood has been focusing on defining the mission of Brotherhood and what it is we bring to Beth Emeth now, and what we WANT to be doing for CBE in the future. I would like to take this opportunity to share with you some of the results of these discussions:
Mission Statement
The mission of Brotherhood at Congregation Beth Emeth is to foster camaraderie, inspire meaningful service, deepen our connection to Judaism, and cultivate a welcoming community. As stewards of one of America’s oldest reform congregations, we are dedicated to actively supporting the congregation, enriching Jewish life, and promoting fellowship within our synagogue and the broader Jewish community.
Our Pillars
Camaraderie: Through our efforts and events Brotherhood works to engage the members of Congregation Beth Emeth and deepen the trust and friendship of its members and community.
Service: Brotherhood’s efforts are to support CBE and the Jewish goal of Tikkun Olam.
Connection: Through its outreach, Brotherhood fosters new connections and creates a support network for its members.
Community: Brotherhood is here to support the growth of the Jewish community at Beth Emeth and throughout the Capital Region.
We are continuing to fine tune our focus, and work to better communicate that to our beloved congregation.
